it doesn’t even surprise me that Mizzou professors seem completely apathetic to the terror black students are experiencing right now

i mean, we are the country that loves to talk about how noble it is that ruby bridges, the little rock 9, and others were willing to risk their lives integrating schools in the 1950s, without having substantive conversations about the nature of white supremacist violence being so pervasive that they had to be escorted by the national guard to even break those barriers to begin with 

this country loves to glorify the risk and uphold the risk takers as the ideal everyone in that situation should strive for without ever talking about why the risk in there in the first place and who creates it time after time 

just another way to avoid talking about white violence
